Article Submission Solution in Joomla 1.5 (and Joomla 1.0) |
|
|
Althou Joomla is an Article based CMS, it’s weekness lies in the way articles are submitted and approved. There is no native approval system that alterts you when users have submitted articles, or one that alerts the submitter when his Article was approved.
Article Factory Manager is the Complete Article Submission and Approval System for Joomla 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5.x – Featuring Frontend Approval (by a designated user Group), and Community Builder Integration, Article Manager 1.7 brings Joomla Article sites to an new level of proffesionalism and usability.
Since version 1.0.0 – Article Factory Manager allows users to post (submit) Articles – regardless if they are Regular Users or Authors. Any Group of user you choose can submit News and Articles. The great news is that you as Administrator can approve from administrative backend all submitted news in the submission order (older article first). This way you can ensure that only valueable articles get published on your site. Screening for spam articles never was so easy – you can set up ALERT words that signal SPAM articles (like well known male products) – This way you get attentive to some articles even if they at first look appear ok.
Articles can be published in the new Joomla 1.5 style or in the old Joomla 1.0 style with intro text and main text. This way users used to the old Joomla system do not get confused, and aricle manager takes care of the conversion to Joomla 1.5 with ease. You can limit the number of links present in an article – avoiding this way to transform your website into a link farm
Administrators are alerted –through email- whenever articles are submitted for approval, and Authors receive emails that annouce every statuschange of their article.
Using the new Quick Reject buttons in the toolbar you can easy reject the problematic articles with a click.
All administrator activities (can) generate emails to the article author announcing him of the status changes of his articles (pending, published or rejected) and of its Reject reason if you choose not to publish the Article.
You as the administrator are also notified that articles are published on your site and that they are pending approval. Using the administrator backend you can easy approve those articles – all pending articles are in a sorted list and will be shown to you one by one in order to be approved.
When you approve articles you can see how many words and charactes the current article has so you can see if the article is to short or to long for your needs. Also you can easy spot spam posts since these are mostly low wordcount.
New in Version 1.7 is the frontend approval system. You can now set up an user group that may approve the articles from frontend, allowing you to have volunteers that approve the articles, but without giving them backend access. This improves your security and your productivity.
Also since 1.7 we integrated Community Builder in Article Manager – You can now set up the Author resource Box as a Community Builder field, and use the Avatar image as a signature image for articles. Also featured now a Community Builder PLUGIN that shows your submitted articles and their current status. This way you can see your articles and the articles other users submitted in their profiles.
Article Factory Manager allows your users to have a so called “Resource Box” – this is more a signature text at the end of every article, one that most users will use to adveritse their webiste or blog. This is a common used technique to promote websites in article sites. You can see how ezinearticles.com does it.
Configuring Aricle manager you can set up some categories or sections in that users are NOT allowed to publish, reserving them for your administrative announcements or for special users. Article minimal length and maximal length can be set up, so no two letter articles get submitted.
All the Components email texts can be customized with ease. You can use HTML code to add specific signatures and image backgrounds to your alert emails. Users get more attentive to images.
New in Article manager : users are allowed to upload images for their Articles in order to include them in the content as image tags. You can disable this feature in configuration if this is not desired.
To test all these features you can go to Article Manager Demo Site - you can also log in administrative backend to test all settings.
