Tips for Promoting Your New Joomla Site |
|
|
You have just built a Joomla site? Now all you need is visitors. But how do you get them? There are hundreds of different ways, if not more, you can use to get people visit your new website. Remember, don’t expect miracle. It will take time and commitment to succeed. If you can afford to invest some money you will be able to reach your goals quicker. If not, you will have to do everything yourself. Here are a few effective and proven methods to get traffic to your new Joomla site.
1. You should start bookmarking your articles or news on your Joomla site. Put up an article section if you don’t already have one. It’s important to provide useful content on your site. You can also do this with a blog. Think of this section as bait to get people to visit your site. Social bookmarking is great for getting instant and high volume traffic quickly. But if your content is weak people will leave within seconds. Doing social bookmarking by hand can really take up a lot of your time; fortunately there are software and PHP scripts that can help you with this. Do some research and invest some money in a software or script.
2. An old but still effective method is article marketing. Submit quality articles to Ezine, GoArticles, Dashboard and many other popular article sites will give your new site a boost in traffic volume. Of course the main benefit would be that you get continued flow of traffic from these articles. And a simple way to ensure that is write good contents. If you know the subject well you should have no problem with writing a couple decent quality articles. If you pay someone to do this for you be sure to check content before submitting, otherwise your reputation will go down quicker than you can imagine!
3. Look for niche forums to join. If your site is about web designing and join a couple web design forums. Put your website address in the signature and let that do the promotion work. Start some new threads, answer people’s questions, give valuable information and play by the their rules. If you are lucky you will see some results after a few weeks. Yes this method takes time but it pays off well once the momentum picks up. Because forums are highly ‘active’ in the eyes of search engines, the thread you started a few days ago might already be on the first page for some long keywords and people will start bookmarking it, emailing it and linking to it from their blogs and/or other forums. So can you see how powerful this is?
